We strongly urge you to support The Ryan-DeLauro Bill (officially named “Preventing Unintended pregnancies, Reducing the Need for Abortion and Supporting Parents Act”) currently pending in Congress.

Supporting this bill — the first explicit federal acknowledgement that many families lack the ability to provide the very basic need of diapers to their children — is critical because families unable to provide for the basic needs of their children are not able to address the many other pressing issues that initially refer them to home a visitation program.

The bill will include a provision that would provide free home visitation services by trained home visitors who may also provided additional services that may include ‘…providing the necessary hygiene products for children such as diapers, that allow a parent to provide for the basic needs of the child.’

The Diaper Bank has been working with Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) over the last six months to promote this bill, co-sponsored by Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-17).
